To those questioning my existance...

.... I'm alive. Barely. I am currently finishing my last semester of college. To be more specific, I am student teaching right now and it is utterly exhausting. =3=
I am enjoying it, however, as well as learning quite a bit! I'll be graduating in May and then I will become part of the adult world. -collective gasp- But I still want to improve my craft. So here are my questions:

In other news, many things have happened in the almost year. I was hired to illustrate a children's book that has since been published! I was also contracted by a friend to illustrate for her once she finishes writing her series. So exciting stuff there!
I no longer live in dear old east Texas. I am back home with family in the DFW area. Not to mention we have a new addition, too!

Meet the new Mr. Mousie~
We were married December 19 and it's been a pretty spectacular ride. Marriage is pretty stinking awesome.
So as you can imagine, life is pretty busy right now, but I wouldn't change it. ^.^
Hopefully I will become more active once the summer rolls around... but we'll see. Until then I'm signing off. <3

ERMAHGERSH MOUSIE'S ALIVE

Hey all! I know it's been a long time. since I was DA. I haven't even been Tumblr either. Most of my time has been eaten up by school but it's summer now so hooray! Any art I've been able to do has either been for class or for commissions (and I've had quite a few lately). I've had a lot of cool stuff happen lately. I was commissioned to do some wedding invitations, a CD album, and recently I've been contracted to be the illustrator of a children's book!
Next semester I finally get to observe a real art classroom. I'll be interning in the fall and then next spring I will be student teaching. I'm so close to the end!
Another big thing that happened this year..... I am engaged!! Hooray!!
A few months after my last journal (in September) my coworker asked me out on a date. Then on the last day of February he proposed. We will be getting married December 19 this year.
So as you can see, I've had a very eventful year. lol
Anyways, I've uploaded a few recent things. I'm going to try to be a bit more active, but my life is revolving less and less around my own artmaking, which, honestly, is okay. I'm transitioning into a new stage of my life and I don't mind it one bit.

*Blows off the Dust*

It's been awhile...
Well now that Fourth of July has passed over and I've taking a day off of pretty much everything so let's update this thing.
First of all I apologize for being so inactive. A lot has happened since my last journal. Dated someone for about 5 months. We both had some growing to do(emotionally and spiritually), and we realized it would be better to just be friends right now. Which we are. But neither of us are really looking for a relationship. God has been telling me to wait lately, and I'm finding I care less and less about getting a boyfriend. I'm just finding satisfaction in God.
I became a small group leader for InterVarsity last semester, which will carry over into this next year. I've dealt with all sorts of drama; break up drama- and not even my own-, friend drama, family drama, job drama, money drama. It's been pretty taxing. Especially this summer. I was financially broke for about 2 weeks and living on rice and salsa. Finally got a job at Bealls as a sales associate. I'm working about 32 hours a week and it's quite tiring. I'm not used to being on my feet for that long. I haven't had my computer for about 2 months because it was getting fixed (the wifi wasn't working on it). I've sketched some, but I'm usually too worn out, both physically and emotionally, to draw much. Partially why I haven't posted anything.
But I have my computer now, I have money, and I have a boyfriend-turned-good-friend. Not to mention we moved some stuff into my new apartment. Things are smoothing out right now, though I have a feeling it's just for a little bit. That seems to be a trend these last couple of months. Mostly because God is teaching me to be dependent on Him and trust Him with all that I have. Every time I stress out (which has been every other week) and ask God what I should do, whether it's through reading a certain bible verse or hearing a one liner from a friend, quite literally everything has pointed me back to that. It's very difficult, but I know that something great will come out of it.
I'll be putting some art up in the near future. I'm going to attempt to join Fighting-Tournament so we'll see how that goes. I've been trying a new style lately that I really like. And I've got a fun character to use. It should be fun. I also may be opening up commissions to get a bit more income.
In any case, now that I've officially blown the dust off this thing, I'm gonna go chillax for a bit. Later, gators.

Hello everyone

Been a bit of a strange semester. Especially this month. Been getting more involved with my organization on campus and we're actually growing! It was suggested that I become a leader next year. I'm a little hesitant, because I don't see myself as a leader really, just a support, but I think it would be fun and I'm gonna try it.
This has certainly been a semester of firsts though. And all in all it's not been bad (except for a couple parts that have been not so pleasant- for instance, someone stole my phone a couple days ago. Police are currently working on that.)
I went to Houston for the first time on a retreat and got to stay in a fancy hotel suite room. Going to Jamaica on a mission trip at the end of December. I'm taking a 3D Media class which has been quite interesting. I get invited out to places all the time, because people really DO like to hang out with me. And I get flowers every other week from a very special friend. (:
I went to a carnival the other night and tried a candied apple and went on a real ferris wheel, aka one that doesn't spin you upside down. I had fun, because for once I wasn't one of the left overs (which how I feel a lot of the time with a bunch of friends in relationships). For the first time ever, I actually had a designated ride buddy, who had fun too... until the last ride (that I asked him to go on with me) and he got motion sickness. I felt really bad for him. ):
This semester has been the best one yet. And it's only halfway done!
